It happened just like this:

Last Friday Night I had a Teenage Dream (even though I’m 39): I Kissed a Girl, a storybook moment if there ever was one, but owing to a pre-existing condition, one which nevertheless aggravated my Hummingbird Heartbeat, leaving me Hot ‘n’ Cold (how can something as perfect as love lead to such pain?), but since this opportunity doesn’t come along very often I damned the consequences and said “Use Your Love“, with a caveat–If You Can Afford Me–and when she acquiesced I began to strut like a Peacock… oh! this feeling was like opening a craggy oyster and finding a Pearl!… later, after inexplicably Waking Up in Vegas, alone and with my wallet and I.D. missing, I had time to reflect upon the precious nature of the thought, “I’m Still Breathing“, and that although maybe I was lucky that nothing worse had happened to me, and how ironic it was that it was me who couldn’t afford her, I was still sad, having Lost this astonishing woman, The One That Got Away, and how, if only I could communicate to her the idea that “I’m Thinking of You” maybe, in spite of everything, If We Ever Meet Again, all will be forgiven.
